About Robert Pasuta

Robert Pasuta first entered municipal politics in 2006. After making a presentation regarding the proposed Maple Leaf processing plant to Hamilton City Council in his role as President of the Golden Horseshoe Pork Producers, he became disillusioned with the lack of attention shown by those at the Council table.  Robert threw his hat in the ring in 2006 and was elected. He ran again in 2010, and was acclaimed to office and in 2014 was re-elected to a third term on City Council.

Robert and his family have operated a family farm where he was born and raised. Although he has needed to scale back to accommodate his duties on City Council, he and his family continue to work and cash crop 300 acres. He is an active member of Council, sitting on many varied sub-committees. Robert sits on the Hamilton Conservation Board, was recently appointed to the executive on the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance, served on the board of directors of the Greenbelt Foundation, and served on the panel of a four-member selection committee for the Premier’s Agricultural Innovation Awards. He serves on countless committees as Hamilton’s Council representative, along with his regular City Council committees.

Best Management Practices

Dependable, Accountable, and Dedicated

“I am honoured to remain the voice for the people of Ward 14. I don’t need a lot of flare and publicity. I’m here for them, not for me.” Robert, along with his wife and partner Elaine, operate a second-generation family farm on Campbellville Road in Flamborough. They grow 300 acres of corn, wheat and soybeans. “Best Management Practices” and respect for the environment is a daily consideration with both Farm and City business decisions. As a successful business owner and three-term City Councillor, Robert offers immeasurable experience and his commitment to the Ward 14 community is unwavering. As a father of seven, he has finely tuned organizing skills. He demonstrates these attributes through his work with individuals, committees and various organizations. His commonsense approach has gained him untold respect. “I’m not afraid of hard work – never was and never will be.”

Robert Pasuta values your opinion

“I encountered Robert Pasuta during his first campaign for council. He was an affable rookie. After two terms he has more than proven himself as our representative on Hamilton Council. I have found him to be approachable, always on the job, helpful where required, tuned into the needs of our community, and his record proves he delivers. I sincerely urge everyone to cast their vote for Robert Pasuta. He has the experience and Ward 14 requires his type of leadership.”

Charles Juravinski, Philanthropist, Greensville

“Rob has always made himself available for those in his riding who needed a champion to guide them through the channels of city administration. He was a huge help in our recent expansion.”

Ben Loewith, Summitholm Farms, Lynden

“I have had the honour and privilege to work with Robert Pasuta as our Ward 14 Councillor for the past 8 years. His commitment to the rural community way of life is unwavering. His responsive and collaborative nature helped to solidify the pursuit of two City & School Board partnerships as hubs for the benefit of our rural families. He has my full support to continue his great work as Councillor for Ward 14.”

(Past) Trustee Karen Turkstra, Wards 14 & 15 of the HWDSB

“Thank goodness for Rob Pasuta’s dedication and leadership. He is, in my opinion, arguably the best councillor in Hamilton. Rob and I have worked together on too many projects to list. I trust him, “he gets things done”. He has good judgement and has served his constituents and particularly our farming community well.”
